Hello From Taiwan: Festival Run!

HELLO FROM TAIWAN begins its festival run starting with a World Premiere at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival with a viewing window from October 1st - 31st! 3 additional festivals will be screening this labor of love in the month of October as well… there will be several ways to watch it.

I’m really excited to finally share this project - its meaning for me extends past the personal story and filmmaking, which in itself is already everything to me. What this film means to me is: the communities I’ve become a part of, going through the DWW program, the amazing people I’ve met because of it, the path my career is heading towards, the things I’ve learned about myself and my process… all of it.

Much love to all the supporters, #AFIDWW2020, and the cast and crew, of course.

I’m also excited that so many great films are part of this festival! I see you DWW and AFI alumni. More info from LAAPFF2020 here!

DWW Showcase Cancelled

Our AFI Directing Workshop for Women Showcase at the DGA has been cancelled tonight due to COVID-19 and it is truly heartbreaking for 8 female directors, 3 women who run the program, the DWW community, and everyone else who has been involved in our films and journeys in some shape or another. It meant a lot to have all our tiny details that we perfected for screening at a large theater in front of industry professionals who could potentially jumpstart our careers.

It’s too early to say if there’s a reschedule - but stay tuned.

Clearly, this isn’t the end of the world - we’ll get through this! So much love to all the people who care and have expressed sympathy. THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart.

Hello From Taiwan: Trailer

Here’s the trailer for Hello From Taiwan - Short Film ❣️❣️

So much heart and soul and true work went into the making of this film - THANK YOU to my cast and crew, donors, AFI, friends and family, advocates who helped get this personal Asian American story TOLD and off the ground.

Hello From Taiwan: Poster Reveal

𝐻𝑒𝓁𝓁𝑜 𝐹𝓇𝑜𝓂 𝒯𝒶𝒾𝓌𝒶𝓃 Poster designed by the coolest and most visionary team out there! Thank you Blood Sweat + Polony

I really loved the amount of thought behind their design. We combined the concept of a child’s perspective using a collage as an abstract representation of 2 colliding worlds, with a gap in typography to communicate a culture gap & broken family. Hope you 💙 this as much as I do!
